Raised Barn Press is a publishing company focused on creating printed and digital media artifacts that are, themselves, artistic creations ("art publishing"). Initially, Raised Barn Press will focus on projects in and around the San Francisco Bay area arts community with emphasis on the unconventional and interactive. The company will specialize in projects of a modern or multimedia nature, for example including DVDs or CD-ROMs, along with books. Our first project is Drama in the Desert, a full-color art book which includes a multimedia DVD. We are now featuring a full-length Drama in the Desert soundtrack audio cd from Sean Abreu as well.

Raised Barn Press represents a new approach to art production as well as an outlet for artistic expression and inspiration. The company was formed with the intent of cultivating the collaborative, free-spirited, creative and interactive ethos that has emerged from Burning Man. In much of western society, attention is focused on art as commerce; works created by a few career artists funneled through the galleries, museums, and ultimately onto the walls of the wealthy. Raised Barn Press is dedicated to recognizing "art" in the larger context, spotlighting otherwise overlooked creative projects and returning to the concept of art as an intrinsic part of culture to be shared by everyone.
